At our practice, we offer a range of services designed to support your personal growth, relationship health, and overall well-being. We are uniquely trained to work with our clients using a relational perspective. Practically speaking, this means that we help our clients explore the ways that their environment (family, friends, coworkers, and society) impacts them and how these interpersonal relationships affect their life. We find that this approach helps clients make sense of their challenges which, in turn, aids in the development of an effective path forward. This also includes taking stock of what is working for them and building on existing strengths.
It is our job to listen to our clients and allow them to feel truly heard. Research has shown this is the most important factor in the therapeutic relationship. We have found that the structure of our initial sessions, designed to explore family and other relationships, both past and present, help us to build valuable connections with our clients and to develop effective therapeutic goals. The goals then serve as a blueprint for the therapy process. Along the way, it is likely that the therapist will recommend movies, books, articles, and/or podcasts that explore relevant themes. We find that this is a powerful tool in supporting our in-session work and normalizing the client’s experience.
