How therapy with me can help you:
I strive to create an egalitarian and collaborative therapeutic environment centered on the premise that you are expert of your own life. Using a holistic, multicultural lens, I both affirm and challenge clients to help discern goals, values, and beliefs as well as their origins. I use an integrated approach with Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT) as its foundation. Through ACT, I incorporate techniques to help clients accept what is beyond their control as well as take values-based action in the present to create a more fulfilling life. Additionally, I integrate both Attachment and Family Systems Theory to encourage better understanding of interpersonal roles and desired boundaries.
About me:
I graduated from George Washington University with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, I completed my undergraduate degree in Media Arts & Design with a concentration in Digital Video & Cinema and a minor in Film Studies at James Madison University. I still bleed Purple and Gold.
I reside in DC with my husband and (more importantly) toy poodle, Grayson. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, listening to podcasts, and "playing" kickball.
