How therapy with me can help you:

My goals, as a therapist, are centered around helping couples, families, and individuals develop their inherent strengths to create positive and lasting change. I bring a compassionate, empathic, authentic, and flexible approach to each of my clients. I view the therapeutic alliance between clinician and client as a partnership with the goal of empowering clients to be effective experts in their own lives. As a systems oriented therapist, I understand the ways in which life events, culture, and family history can impact the current functioning of individuals and families and believe that I can help clients develop resilience in the face of adversity.

About me:

As a systems oriented and trained therapist, I understand the ways in which life events, culture, and family history can impact the current functioning of individuals and families. My former career as a medical librarian shows up in my therapeutic process, through my use and recommendation of books and other sources of information. As a librarian I evaluated medical articles through the lens of Evidence Based Medicine, which has helped inform my professional reading and practice as a therapist.

I have been supervising interns in the practice for the past two years and really enjoy the process. This experience keeps me in a growth mindset and keeps me connected to both new developments in the field and the foundations of counseling. I am close to completing requirements for AAMFT Approved Supervisor status.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, traveling, and spending time with family.
